I've never had one apart, so I can't say for sure, but sounds like chains instead of belts at least in the '07 code BAR 4.2L 4-valve engine. Laborand parts for the timing chain tensioner was $4k but that was covered by warranty company. The rest of the guides, rails, timing chain, I just had to pay ~$700 for OEM parts, but labor was covered in that $4k. I have the 3.0 TFSI and I just did the timing chains on my engine at 205k. Itās a motor out repair.
