So, as others have pointed out, it's a known issue with gopro. And believe you me that my hero 3 black had probably even worse battery life, at 45 minutes!. Anyway, what I can say is that this made me a better cameraman, and forced me to plan my shots and film in short intervals of no more than 1 minute at a time for the most part (this works fine for my hobbies).
February 8, 2021 at 11:56 PM. hero 7 black - charging while recording - is it possible. I have started using GoPro Hero 7 Black for recording and live streaming. The quality and wide-angle make it ideal. When I try to use the charging cord it seems to prevent me from recording. I am therefore limited to the life of a single battery.
Few things to keep in mind which act as a drawback in case of Hero 7 Black are : #1: Battery Life. A GoPro’s battery generally lasts for about 1.5 – 2 hours. Reducing the resolution and disabling certain unwanted features like GPS, WiFi etc. may help in extending the battery life. It is always advised to carry a few extra batteries along.
